Budget Advocacy Network and partners, WASH-Net and Education for All Sierra Leone, under a project titled, “Driving Audit Accountability in Sierra Leone: maintenance of School Facilities,” are advocating for 15% of the school fee subsidy to be utilized for the provision and maintenance of schools WASH facilities in the country.
The brief seeks to influence a policy change for government to address WASH issues which is achieved through adequate inspection and following up on the maintenance of the facilities. BAN and partners have attempted to secure WASH improvement in one district (200-300 schools) through engagement with Local Councils and their inspection of how schools use the budget provided.
